First off, super friendly customer service and welcoming. Felt like a family store/restaurant with interesting groceries. Me, not being extremely familiar with a lot of Mediterranean delicacies, items in the market looked like they'd be fun to try. I was on the fence as to whether to get the Combination or Vegetarian platter, and chose the later. I get the feeling I couldn't of gone wrong with either. I do know and love Falafel and I must say that these were the best I've ever tasted! Had a little spice to them as well, BONUS! Was extra filling, but not an overwhelming portion which was perfect. My only complaint is that it's not in my neck of the Woods!!

5 years ago when I had my first taste of Mediterranean imports, it was amazing. Now... Not so much. It's grocery section is pretty amazing and has many items I buy often. But this isn't about the grocery. The food was all quite dry and overcooked. The gyro meat was cold and chewy, but quite tasty. The grape leaves had an odd texture... The kibbi, though, was as delicious as always. And their baklava is very tasty, especially for the price and the option. And their falafel is amazing and spicy. I do wish the hummus was a little different but that's personal opinion. This is a great restaurant and I will always recommend it but there is better Mediterranean food in okc.

I love this place. The owner is very focused on making sure his employees are taking care of the customer. Their hummus and tabouli are AWESOME!! I have purchased cheese and olives here as well. I highly recommend this place if you are wanting to cook your own Mediterranean food.

Tiny, but good. The falafel is my favorite in the city. The combo platters are a great way to sample it all and see what you like best. You can so pick up a variety of groceries here. The coffee selection is really nice. The owner makes it all from his recipes, we've been told. Delish!

It's like food heaven in here. Fresh meats, cheeses etc. mostly Mediterranean spices and condiments. Mostly awesome. Fresh herbs, tubs of olives, fresh hummus.

This review is just for the ordered/dine-in food and not the deli area/shop. Eh. It's alright. Pretty affordable. Pita (2/5): It was thin and cold. Sad day. Mujaddara (3/5): Fairly okay dish. The flavor of the lentil mix was good but bordered on refried beans which is a weird way to describe it, I know. Tabouli (3/5): Nothing special about this tabouli but it wasn't bad, either. Decent taste and all the ingredients you'd expect from a tabouli. Hummus (3/5): As a broken record goes round; eh, was okay. Falafel (4/5): The falafel was my favorite part of the meal. They came out warm and were delicious, but they were awfully little. Which was adorable, at least. Cabbage roll (2/5): I love cabbage rolls but this was completely flavorless and lukewarm. Grape leaves (3/5): Loosely packed and meh on flavor. Kibbi (2/5): It didn't leave much of an impression on me. Bland but I liked the texture.

Some people might like this place but for me the German Potato Salad was gross, did not eat and the Bakliva had no taste at all and tasted to be a few days old. What I really don't like is the kitchen, the area was open and you can see how unorganized it is and did not look clean. That's all it takes to keep me away from there ( the cafe area). Iam sure the store items are fine.

This place has one of the best selection of meats and cheeses in OKC at excellent prices. You also have the option of ordering ahead of time. You can even pre-pay, that way all you have to do is run in and pick-up your order. This is a great feature for me, since I often order several items (maybe 5-10 meats/cheese) and it takes a while to slice everything so waits can be long if I run in. The owners are also nice and the young woman who worked at the deli was very nice and patient with me one day when I was ordering tons of different meats and cheeses right before close.

It is a grocery store and cafe. they have the best falafel sandwich in the town. I always prefer to eat it with hummus

  • Theresa N.

Excellent middle eastern grocery. Produce section not great but lovely olive bar and cheese selections. The humus is a perfect consistency which I get when I'm too lazy to make fresh. (It's so easy - how can I be so lazy? :) Nice cafe but I've never tried it so can't comment on it. Staff is helpful. It can be busy on Saturdays. This is the place to get stuffed grape leaves (dolmas), humus, tahini, feta for much less than Whole foods. The tabouli has a little too much parsley for my taste but then again I like more veggies and less parsley normally.

Great pit-stop for lunch on a very long road trip! Outstanding food in a cute mom-and-pop environment

  • Julissa M.

Service during lunch is not the best. Ordered to go. Food just sat there for 15 minutes until I went up to the counter to check on it. I was sitting in the area the whole time. Food was good. I would try it again, but not during lunch.

In short, Mediterranean Deli is an experience. From the moment you enter the store, you really feel like you've stumbled upon some well-kept secret. Half of the deli is actually a small, specialized grocer, selling all sorts of Mediterranean delights that I don't know how to pronounce, let alone cook. The other half of the deli is a small restaurant, serving up a variety of unusual tasty treats. The sandwiches could be generally classified as no-frills, but there is something very unique about the genuine Mediterranean flavors. My personal favorites are the pastrami sandwich and the potato salad. This is the type of restaurant that is a fun departure when you're looking to get away from the same-old same-old, and as a bonus, there is an ivy covered patio that is often very underutilized.

I never thought I would say this, but... I was bested by a salad. Well, four salads. But there was no lettuce involved, so these weren't some namby-pamby salads. I don't want to sell myself short... Mediterranean Imports & Deli has something known as a "Salad Plate." It comes with four salads of your choice. I decided to get it to go. The young lady asked, "Which ones would you like? Just point at them." So point I did. The salads that I picked were: (a) Fried eggplant, which was quite delicious. It was my favorite, but it's probably because it kind of reminded me of Karavella (i.e. Goya) so it may not be your thing. (b) Potato salad. It's potatoes. You can't go wrong. (c) Beans and chickpeas. Probably my least favorite of the four but still good. (d) Couscous. Yum! $4.88. Yeah. That's right. Less than a Lincoln. There was so much food. So much. The styrofoam container cracked a little from the weight of the food when I picked it up. I was so astonished by the sheer quantity of food provided for such a piddling sum of money that I took pictures to show you, my fellow Yelpers the amazingly filling meal I had. But Yelp keeps telling me there's a server error so no pictures for you. And it was quite enjoyable. All of it. There was a lot of flavor in each salad offering. I actually thought, "Maybe this vegetarian thing isn't so hard?" I couldn't even get through more than a third of the sizeable mound of foodstuffs before I developed a food baby and threw in the proverbial towel. I took the rest home for a hearty (and entirely meat-free) dinner. Even then I didn't finish it. To be honest, by the time I finished a second round with the food, it all started to taste the same. Maybe the same vinegar or dill base is used for all of the salads? I went an entire day where no animals (that I'm aware of) were sacrificed for the sake of my sustenance... "Actually, I'm not even mad. That's amazing." -Ron Burgundy A colleague of mine says that there should have been a pita with my salad plate. But I did not get any. Sad.

Oh the food. It's divine. What bumps this rating up is their catering service. Superb!! When you have to feed a hungry group of people, it's nice to know that you can count on someone for prompt service and yummy food at reasonable prices. The portions are pretty large. They are very consistent and the owner (Atif) is fantastic. If you place your order and find that you need to add more to it, he will accommodate the change. That guy sure does deserve an "Owner of the Year" award. I love their chicken. It's a kabob. Tender. Flavorful. I dig it. I love their Falafel. I think the seasoning is what makes this special. I love their tabouli. A parsley salad. Some of you might find this strange, but it's really quite good. They don't put a lot of bulgar or quinoa in it, FYI. I love their hummus. I love their gyro. I just can't get enough.

I would give it a 5 if the people at the deli register moved a little faster. At times it seems they are simply do not care. As for the Deli itself, a little more self service (olives etc) The food is great!

I'm kind of a sucker for a delicious deli that doubles as a grocer. Make those groceries mediterranean imports at a fair price and you've just earned yourself a repeat customer. One of the best secrets about Mediterranean Deli (there are quite a few- what's yours?) is that you can get some of the same cheeses here (and more- fancy a Bulgarian Feta?) that are sold at Whole Foods for a much lower price! Score! Try the spanakopita. Go ahead, indulge.. I'm pretty sure it's the best thing Mediterranean Imports and Deli makes. I always feel like I *should* get the dolmas because they're so emblematic of mediterranean culture, but really, I must confess, I don't like them. Don't worry; it's me. Everything is made with care and attention, so I'm pretty confident you'll adore the babaghanoush and hummus and fatoush. Always, always, always sate your sweet tooth before you leave. (C'mon, you know you want a bird's nest- those crumbly little strings of wheat doused in a honey syrup- oh so sticky- that's a happy ending!) Atif Afal has catered a school function for me twice in the last two years, and the service he provided, from the first phone call to setting up the tables and laying out the food, was top-notch. He was charming and intent on making sure we chose plates that my young students would truly enjoy. He's earned my business for years to come!

SIGH. It's hard to adequately express my love for this place. Let's start with the fact that the overgrown greenery surrounding the building makes it feel like a tiny oasis. A little secret Grecian getaway right in the middle of a bustling city. Upon entrance, the slight aroma of coffee and all things good in the world sort of wafts into your nostrils, preparing you for the taste carnival that is about to happen in your mouth. The coffee smell comes from the tiny, con-caved area that's packed with whole coffee beans ready for grinding. Surprise! This place is also a Mediterranean grocery store chock full of culinary treats. Slice meats, sliced cheeses, olives, pita bread, beans, homos-tahini and more. You can also order a yummy lunch or early dinner. This place is serious about their kitchen closing at 6 p.m. The muajadra is my favorite thing. It's a lentil, rice, and onion wonder that begs to be mixed with the homos or delicious house vinaigrette that is poured generously over the Greek salad. Don't forget this place is super authentic which means THERE ARE PITS IN ALL THE SCRUMPTIOUS OLIVES. Breaking a tooth is seriously a terrible way to end a lovely experience of eating and international grocery shopping. I've heard the falafel is the most delicious in the city. I'm a gluten-free baby so I stay away because wheat is added to the mixture, according to those that work there. Try one of the daily made salads. There's a cucumber and tomato one with the house dressing and fresh dill, as well as a mozzarella ball and grape tomato salad. It's just all really good. Lastly, the service is interesting. It's quick but maybe a little grumpy. I don't know. It doesn't really bother me at all. I find curmudgeonly people adorable. But it might be something to take note of.

  • Sara P.

Their fresh deli meats and cheeses get a 5 The attitude of the owner should probably get a -10 but thats not possible on yelp, so he'll get a 1. HIs attitude is HORRIBLE. He is nice to us because we know him, but if you don't, good luck. And he treats his staff like they are worthless. And their staff has always been very friendly and as helpful as they can be. The food from their kitchen is a 2 or 3. So on avg. they get a 3.

  • Shah G.

Casual environment, super friendly service and staff, but above All fantastic food. Definitely the best Mediterranean food in all of Oklahoma. If you haven't visited here, add it to your list and it's a must try!!

  • Scarlet L.

The healthiest and tastiest lunch in town! I love their salad selection. I am addicted to their Monday hot plate: chicken curry! Yum yum yum! So fresh and not overwhelmed with curry spice...and so healthy with salad...Unfortunately, I have to have my cheese strudel so it is not quite healthy...But who cares?! It is so good! The market is very fascinating with wide variety of cheese, spices, and other exotic food. The only thing they can improve is the plastic plates they serve! But what the heck?! With that price, I can't complain!

Thankfully, I found my "go to" OKC Vegetarian Plate meal here. Everything is fresh, satisfying and delicious. I forego the pita bread and ask for an extra falafel. Compare their hummus to anything else. That's the Mediterranean benchmark to measure. The staff is very gracious and kind, however, the owner can be a bit crazed. Late one afternoon I am awaiting my food and someone starts sweeping the floor with a broom. What? I insisted they stop. Having worked in a restaurant in high school, the last thing you want is to watch all of the crap on the floor get stirred up and dispersed on your food like fresh ground pepper. The owner assured me it was okay. I insisted they wait until I cleared the parameter, which they did. They get crowded at lunchtime (for good reason) so go early or late. If later, and someone pulls a broom, protest and protect your right to eat unmolested. Their food is worth the aggravation. Regarding the deli, I don't eat cheese or deli meats or baklava or any of the other foods that kill you, but they sell it all. It's an exercise in patience, but the customers look satisfied as they waddle out.

  • Edward J.

The deli looked impressive but my lunch was lame. My gyro meat was cold and tasteless. The falafel was OK. The rest was nothing worth mentioning. To their credit the server saw a problem, since I was leaving with a plate full of food. I told what I thought and the manager/owner chased me outside to ask me what was wrong. Sorry dude, I won't be back for a freebie, you get one shot.

  • Molly C.

Variety plate with grape leaves, hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, etc was amazing!! All homemade and lots of flavor. Baklava was very good. Gyro was the only complaint. It wasn't your typical lamb meat that is grilled and sliced. The meat was tough and the sandwich did not have much flavor.

  • Melodie H.

I love greek food! I ordered the Gyro. It was ok. Nothing fantastic. But there store was awesome! If I cooked mediterranean this would be where I would shop! Customer service was the middle of the road.

  • Heather S.

Best hummus and baba ganoush I've had. Not impressed with falafel though. Yet another mom-n-pop business that lasts through the decades because they work their butt off and are always there.

    (3)
  • Hayley T.

The food was very good. Sweets were ok but, not the best. Not a lot of room for the dining area. They do have a grocery area with limited imported items. I will eat here again.

  • Joe C.

Mediterranean Imports & Deli is a lovely option for lunch, with a solid blend of true Mediterranean options and some concessions to the boring folks too. (I say this as a boring person who wasn't feeling like much more than a deli sandwich the first time I was there.) Food's well made, the store itself has a lot of fine options ... a solid lunch spot.

Nothing special. You get what you pay for I suppose. My meal along with my girlfriends cost about 20 bucks with dessert. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here nor do I see myself dining here again. If you want some good Mediterranean go to Camilla's on May and Hefner. Much better!

I have been shopping at the deli for 30 years . it's absolutely the best place to shop for cheeses and deli meat in oklahoma..you would have to drive to dallas to find a better place...his prices are very competitive..Atef is perfectionist and it shows... I had Atef cater a dinner for 40...he was so generous i had leftovers! i had to sent food home with my friends . My lebanese friends from out of town were over joyed.

This little place is located on May Ave off the NW Expressway, at first drive by.... you might miss this place! It is in a little old building that doesn't stand out much from the crowd in the area like Zorba's just further down the road When you walk inside you are greeted with a deli meat counter/ordering area, tables, and then a HUGE selection of Medteranean imported goods and products! I ordered a meat dish and it was served with salad, the meat was a somewhat shredded type beef flavor, all of the food was of exceptional quality and very fresh, it came with hummus and pita bread, the coke that I ordered was not a fountain drink but just a regular 12 oz coke can The staff was a very young mix of kids but they were friendly and were prompt in serving the food when it became available, the owner of the establishment also seemed If you want some fresh tasting Mediterranean restaurant comes to import & deli!

Thank the Gods for Yelp, which helps me find hidden gems like this. Yet another place I've driven by countless times and never noticed. Since it was a beautiful day to ride, I saddled up the Harley and headed there for lunch. I got there just before Noon, and there was already a small rush of people. I ordered the Corned Beef with Swiss, a Tabouli side salad, and stuffed grape leaves (dolmades). I took a seat on the patio which is very nice when the weather is right. My food arrived in about 10 mins. (see pic) and it looked really good. The stuffed grape leaves looked a bit old, like maybe yesterday's, but tasted great. The Tabouli salad was tangy and delicious, and at $1.25 for a side item is a steal - I want to take one home and deconstruct it so I can make it sometime, it's really that good. And the sandwich? Very nice. They also use the chewy-crusty sandwich bread which makes all the difference. Serve me Wonder bread and I'll serve you the finger. All this plus iced tea for eight bucks and change! Now I see why it's so popular amongst Yelpers. I've definitely put it in my rotation as a favorite and I can't wait to try more of their offerings.

  • Garen M.

I usually eat here but today I just needed a few items to make some baba ganoush. They have a wonderful selection of Mediterranean groceries, olives, cheeses, and anything you can think of for middle eastern cooking. Of course I couldn't leave without a carryout of baklava. That will make Mrs Eva very happy.

    (4)
  • Lauren W.

    I. Love. This. Place! I'm pretty sure it's my favorite food in OKC. I really love the falafel, the shawarma, their hummus is so good, and they have the BEST baklava I've ever had! All their salads are great too. If you'd like a sampler, get the Mediterranean Plate or the Vegetarian Plate. It's all the bomb. And did I mention cheap? In addition, they have a great grocery. It is the place to get cheese, olives, spices. I hear they also have a selection of supplies for your hookah.

  • Anna F.

Hands down, the most authentic Mediterranean deli around. Coming from someone who is Lebanese and knows how it's done, I can't say enough good things about Medi Imports. Definitely recommend the grape leaves and kibba. Also has an incredible imported cheese selection!

    (5)
  • Jennifer C.

What a find! I agree with the other reviewers that Zorba's is awful compared to Mediterranean Imports & Deli, but what I really love about this place is their deli selections. I love trying new cheeses and stocking up on old favorites like flat bread, Hummus, Baba Ganoush, and Eggplant Tapenade. The cashiers are knowledgable about their cheeses and will spend a good bit of time answering your questions, offering recommendations, and giving you samples to taste. Because of this, however, checking out can be a little slow, but that's fine with me!

I like their desert and grocery but no the deli.

  • Ashley D.

I have been a long time customer of this place. Their food is fantastic. I love their falafel sandwiches. Their stuffed grape leaves, hummus, spinach pies, and baklava are favorites as well. Their tabouli has more parsley than bulgar wheat, which is unlike anywhere else in the metro. I prefer it that way. They always have a hot and cold special of the day. This is a great place to bring vegetarians as well. There isn't much seating available, and service isn't the fastest or most organized, but it is worth it! The best part is that all of their salads are available to purchase to-go for eating a home later. In fact, they have an entire market for you to buy things at! This is my go to market for finding ethic food at a very reasonable budget. They have a fantastic selection of deli meats and fine cheeses, as well as unique pastas, coffees, teas, and spices. And it is CHEAP! It always blows my mind how cheap I can get spices, nuts, and grains here compared to the grocery store. And they have beutiful bunches of fresh herbs for $.99! It is a fun place to explore and to have lunch. I truly think it is a hidden gem in our city.

  • Meg W.

This place is fantastic in every way. The food is delicious and the grocery store is unique. Mediterranean Imports & Deli is authentic Mediterranean food. Everything is so fresh and obviously made every day. The falafel sandwich is great, as well as the vegetarian platter and I have not been disappointed by the vegetarian lasagna, but one of my favorite things about this place is the mujadarra, which I have had nowhere else but here. They have a great selection of desserts; the baklava is great! It definitely helps that this place is right by my work and home. I will be back again and again.

A lot for the money. I enjoyed my gyro plate. I had a bit of everything on my platter and was all within a good price. Enjoy!

I'm a fan because I love their grocery selections. I LOVE the salad plate. I've strayed away from my usual salad plate and meat and cheeses, but have not been that impressed. I do really enjoy this place though. It could be because I've been coming here for over 10 years and it feels like home. Oklahoma wouldn't be the same without it. Great place. Unique for sure!

Undecided about where to go for lunch? Need to grab some hard-to-find grocery items during your lunch break but don't think you'll have the time? You're in luck! Take a trip to Med. imports and deli and you can simultaneously tell that grumbling stomach to shut up AND pick up some grape leaves and/or tahini at the same time. Yes, I'm aware that I might sound like a salesman from a Shamwow infomercial right now, so please forgive me, I just get oh-so-excited to find specialty grocers in the metro because our grocery store choices aren't as diverse as I'd like... but maybe that's just me. Don't go here hoping to pick up every last item on your shopping list - it's a specialty grocer. They do have a small selection of everything from various regions around the world: specialty jams, beans, herbs and spices, olives, pastas, sweets, some frozen selections and even shisha for your hookah (smoking is bad, mmmkay?). Their selection of gourmet deli meats and cheeses is spectacular. A good rule of thumb is just to pick something you've never tried and go with it. The lunch menu isn't huge by any means, but they've got a good balance of traditional Mediterranean specialties, premium deli sandwiches, as well as all of their homemade soups and desserts. I'd recommend a platter: combo / middle eastern / vegetarian - to get a small taste of everything including their hummus, grape leaves, falafel, tabouli, and kibbi to name a few. It's all pretty good, though I've certainly had better falafel (CousCous Cafe). The gyro is a good option as well. I haven't gotten a chance to try any of the sandwiches because I always have such a hard time making up my mind - so the platters are really perfect for me, but they look absolutely delicious. Mark my words: next time I go - I WILL order the Italian sandwich. With mortadella, provolone, salami and capicola... it's bound to be a party. Oh and be sure to try some of their homemade sweets as well, like a bird's nest, baklava, macaroon or a strudel. So what are you waiting for?! Go now! If you go in the next 30 minutes, we may even throw in a complimentary Shamwow (and by complimentary we mean 7 easy payments of 99.99, plus S&H). Overall Grade: B+

Good humus, pita, salad. Great mini baklava in a tiny bite if your watching your sweet intake.

  • Angie S.

The falafel was fantastic, warm and spicy on the inside and hot and crispy on the outside. Also, the Greek salad is a must have! I'm talking melt in your mouth feta and a light oil-based dressing with crunch baguette on the side. For dessert I had the Bird Nest with pistachios - the crust was amazing! I highly recommend for fresh and tasty Mediterranean at a reasonable price!

FAV Mediterranean-fix BY FAR in OKC: Such selection, whether a small or large appetite. Vegan or not. AND the Store! Cannot keep out of there when I visit. Their prepared treats, the cheeses, olives, spices, on and on. Oh, and the Owner. He is -so- busy, but so helpfu! Custom grinds Turkish Coffee exactly to your requested specifications...exactly how much Cardamom one desires. Lovely about ordering items, given plenty of lead time before an event (planning needed by the Customer!). ALWAYS tasty food, helpful Staff. (I've tried numberous competitors: foget bout it!)

  • Eric R.

When it comes to a great selection of Mediterranean goods in OKC this place is it. I'd give it a full 5 stars if the place wasn't so dim and outdated. I was looking for some blocked feta cheese and I thought this place would definitely have it. There is a large international cheese selection at the counter as well packaged cheese in the fridge. I didn't really venture into a lot of the other Mediterranean products since I'm not too familiar with Mediterranean cuisine but the prices were affordable and the staff was friendly. There is a sign asking that if you pay with a credit card you have it least $10 worth of purchases. I believe that goes against the merchant terms & conditions with the credit card companies and I really don't like when businesses do this. I didn't bring this up with the owner but if I really feel like going back I'll bring cash or ask them to waive the minimum spending requirement.

My favorite place in OKC. How people can think Zorba's is better is silly. The salad plate is a steal. The vinegar-based potato and bean salads are great. The eggplant salad and tabouli are perfect. I always grab a bulk container of hummus to go and pair it with pita from Sweis'. The veg dolmas and baklava are also wonderful. So Good!

Best falafel, stuffed grape leaves, kibbi, and baba ganoush in OKC. Also the best specialty grocer in Oklahoma. I love them merely for having as many cheeses as they do. :)

I mostly hit this this place for the many hard to find items I simply can't get in the grocery store, but I also love to take the time to get the occasional sandwich or pastry. Amazing selection.

  • Vivian H.

Great place for a Mediterranean lunch, especially if you get here early (around 11am). It gets pretty crowded pretty quick at lunchtime, and parking is limited. I tried the combination platter, which had a fresh Greek salad, yummy falafel balls, pita, and gyro meat. The hummus is also reallyyy good. I do like the gyros at Zorba's better, but this place seems more authentic. They also have a small grocery section, with lots of imported items, and meat and cheese cut to order.

  • Zoe M.

Wow! We had the pastrami and provolone sandwich and it was delicious. So was the tabouli, though it was more parsley than wheat, still delicious. There's sooo much stuff to shop for in here, too. They have everything from coffee, to mint jelly, to goose pate... just, wow. It's so nice, I'll be back there as soon as I can. It's fantastic.

For an aspiring cook, Oklahoma City is not the place to be. It's tough to find decent produce, ethnic ingredients and other specialty items. Mediterranean Imports is a gem. You can get pancetta, smoked mozzarella, freshly made baba ganoush and imported pasta. Also, they have fresh herbs and dried spices for cheap! It's a small family owned establishment. The owner is extremely helpful and always wants to know what you're cooking. You can always sample the array of imported cheeses and meats before buying. It's a taste of Little Italy or Greektown right in the middle of Oklahoma City!

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday and it wasn't terribly crowded. The gyro meat wasn't exactly gyro meat, per sey, but it was very good. The falafel was excellent, too. All around a really good meal, and pretty cheap to boot. I was a little confused by the sauce they served, though. It was kind of inbetween hummus and straight tahini. It was also served with my boyfriends "gyro" in lieu of tzatziki. It was good, just unfamilliar.

I miss this place. Where else can you gourmet cheese, tabouli and hummus all in the same place??

  • Joe P.

Every city needs at least one and in Oklahoma City we are blessed to have specialty stores in abundance. One of these is Mediterranean Imports. Need great cheese, Hummus, Olives? They have it. Need sweet paprika for goulash? That too. There is much more if you are looking for something that no one else carries here. We get a large flat bread for vegetarian pizza and while we are there we pick up excellent fresh eggplant and squash for the toppings. I also recommend them for a lunch that includes salads, chicken, sandwiches and other light fare with indoor and outdoor tables. If this little gem is someplace you haven't visited you owe it to yourself to check it out.

This place is not the cleanest of restaurants, however their food allows you to overlook that! You cannot go wrong with a Vegetarian Platter from here!

There is no better authentic mediterranean food in OKC. It also has a section to buy imported foods that you can't find anywhere else in the city. Plus - it's not a chain!

Mediterranean Imports has the best falafel in the US. I've compared other falafel balls from California to Massachusetts, and nothing bests the golden deep-fried goodness from Mediterranean Imports. NOTHING. Thank god for spellcheck, because I spelled Mediterranean wrong two (OKAY, three) times in this review. Me so spes chull

BEST Greek/Middle Eastern I've had here in OKC. Didn't have to wait long at 12:20p on a Wed. Had the Middle Eastern Platter for 6.99, had tabouli, falafel, hummus, dolmas, pita and my favorite kibbi! Also they make the best baklava I've ever had! I'm dying to try one of their fresh deli sandwiches. I have purchased from their small grocery area before, tahini, cheap nuts, grains, legumes and dried fruit. Love it.

As we entered the building, we noticed the hustle of the lunch crew frantically trying to keep up with orders. Again, always a great sign (in my opinion) of a restaurant wanted by the people. The man who took are order, informed us of an unusually long wait today, before we ordered. That's the service I appreciate. We waited anyway, and it was well worth it. My boss had the Vegetarian Platter and I had the Pastrami and Provolone sandwich. I could not complain at how fresh and tasty this sandwich was. The boss said the hummus was top notch and the grape leaf wrapped thing ( sorry I don't know the name) that she let me taste was excellent. And the Baklava, well, it's .99 cents and I would've paid $3.50 for a small piece of that slice of heaven. While we waited, we looked at all the imports they had to offer. Cheeses, fresh salads and all manner of exotic foods and spices. If you cook frequently, this is the place to find the ingredients you need for that special dish you've been wanting to try. Barry Switzer was also eating there when we were in. So a local celebrity sighting as well. Go here for lunch, but again, be prepared to wait. I think you'll be happy you did!

i usually come here for the specialty items that they have in the market section. they have really great herbs for less than a $1 for a small bunch (parsley, basil, rosemary). they get their delivery of fresh herbs on thursday so make sure you go on a thursday or a friday when it's the freshest. as well as a small restaurant serving middle eastern food, they have a prepared foods section (including desserts) like salads, hummus, pastas... they also have deli meats and cheeses...they even have their own house-made feta. i took one star of because i've noticed some of their items in the grocery section were out of date. overall, great place for a bite of middle eastern food and convenient place to pick up a few things for dinner.

  • Jason T.

This is a great place for middle eastern food. This is where I had my first falafel and it was love at first sight err, or bite. Nowhere else have I found falafel that compares. I usually order 10 or 15 falafel balls at 20 cents a piece. Also the mujadra lentil dish is really great and probably my favorite lentil dish anywhere. The stuffed grapeleaves and cabbage rolls are delicious and they make hummus you can buy to go. I can't wait to go back.

My father ad I have been going here since I was 12 (about 5 years). I absolutely love it, they have tons of Mediterranean food to eat, as well as fresh meat. I also love the grocery store part of it, a large amount of Mediterranean food you can make yourself

I love this place. After moving to Oklahoma from California I thought I would never find French feta but then I came across Mediterranean Imports & Deli and thought "lucky me!!!". They also carry a variety of teas and said that they may be able to get my brand of persian tea if their supplier has it, that's next on my list. They carry many different varieties of rice, my favorite is Tilda Basmati and I love to go to lunch here to have their wonderful falafels.

An awesome selection of olives, spices, and other foodstuffs from around the world. don't make the owner mad but otherwise a great place to get cheeses and olives. some of the best tabouli anywhere.

Yes indeed. This is the best place in town for ethnic delights. Recently got some pepper salami, fantastic. They have a great lunch offering too. Be prepared to wait.

  • Megan C.

Casual environment, super friendly service and staff, but above All fantastic food. Definitely the best Mediterranean food in all of Oklahoma. If you haven't visited here, add it to your list and it's a must try!!

Delish!

    (4)
  • Melodie H.

I love greek food! I ordered the Gyro. It was ok. Nothing fantastic. But there store was awesome! If I cooked mediterranean this would be where I would shop! Customer service was the middle of the road.

Best hummus and baba ganoush I've had. Not impressed with falafel though. Yet another mom-n-pop business that lasts through the decades because they work their butt off and are always there.

  • Hayley T.

The food was very good. Sweets were ok but, not the best. Not a lot of room for the dining area. They do have a grocery area with limited imported items. I will eat here again.

    I. Love. This.

So Good!

I mostly hit this this place for the many hard to find items I simply can't get in the grocery store, but I also love to take the time to get the occasional sandwich or pastry. Amazing selection.

Where else can you gourmet cheese, tabouli and hummus all in the same place??

i usually come here for the specialty items that they have in the market section. they have really great herbs for less than a $1 for a small bunch (parsley, basil, rosemary). they get their delivery of fresh herbs on thursday so make sure you go on a thursday or a friday when it's the freshest. as well as a small restaurant serving middle eastern food, they have a prepared foods section (including desserts) like salads, hummus, pastas... they also have deli meats and cheeses...they even have their own house-made feta. i took one star of because i've noticed some of their items in the grocery section were out of date. overall, great place for a bite of middle eastern food and convenient place to pick up a few things for dinner.

I found this place after Magic Lamp Imports & Deli closed. Mediterranean doesn't have big a menu but the food is as good or better.

Service during lunch is not the best. Ordered to go. Food just sat there for 15 minutes until I went up to the counter to check on it. I was sitting in the area the whole time. Food was good. I would try it again, but not during lunch.

Hands down, the most authentic Mediterranean deli around. Coming from someone who is Lebanese and knows how it's done, I can't say enough good things about Medi Imports. Definitely recommend the grape leaves and kibba. Also has an incredible imported cheese selection!
